The Straits Times carried a seven-page Special Report on the visit to North Korea earlier this month by 16 journalism students from NTU’s Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information. The students shared their first hand experiences in one of the world’s most secretive states, including rare glimpses into the lives of ordinary North Koreans. The visit was part of the school’s Sojourn – Short Overseas Journalism Experience – programme, an overseas reporting practicum funded by the Wee Kim Wee Legacy Fund.
I was part of the delegation that visited Pyongyang, North Korea from 3 to 10 December 2011, and contributed an article on the dining scene in the hermit kingdom, which was published in The Straits Times.
